Bobs are out! Long hair is back in. So grow those tresses long and strong. Whether it’s embellished, slicked back, pulled high and tight, or worn down in loose waves, all the hair looks from the Runway have one thing in common: serious length. Loose, carefree waves cascading into sheer dresses, floral pints and pastels for a free-spirited bohemian moment, as seen on Gomes wearing Camilla.

Fashion Week Loose Waves1

How to – Big Volume Loose Waves:

Step 1

Start by separating freshly washed, towel dried hair into medium sized pieces.

Step 2

Using a round brush, carefully blow dry each section, being careful to completely dry each section. If each section is not properly dried, your hair may frizz and become difficult to style. Round brushes are helpful to create volume at the roots and soft waves. Wrap the ends of your hair around the brush, then apply heat for loose waves.

Step 3

To finish off the curl, use a curling wand with a large barrel for volume. Make sure to wrap fairly large sections around the barrel so your curls aren’t too tight. Brush them out for that barely there look.

If you are still waiting for your bob to grow out, don’t worry you can still make it fabulous with texture! The perfect textured bob can be seen below on Carla Zampatti model. Carla Zampatti killed it at this years fashion festival, proving she is still a force to be reckoned with after half a century in the business. Her designs featured a combination of never fail classics with a strong 70’s boho vibe, combining well cut pants and tailored blazors with leather-look wrap skirts and racerback evening gowns. Textured Bob

How to – Textured Bob:

Step 1

It can be difficult to get texture into hair that has just been washed. Leave it over night before styling, otherwise try a sea salt spray, these are great for adding texture. Just spray through hair before styling to create a sexy-messy tousled look to your bob.

Step 2

Use a curling tong that will give you big volume at the roots and nice soft tumbling waves. We love the GHD Curve Classic Curl Tong Set. Wrap small to medium sections around the barrel. Once you’re done, brush them out for a more natural finish.

Step 3.

For additional texture, scrunch a curl enhancing spray through your hair after styling. This will add more bounce to the curls and also ensure they stay all day.

Sleek Pony

Walking the National Graduate Showcase, April Yap‘s models were all rocking sleek pony’s to show off her designs. The designs featured a checked pattern from Photoshop to indicate blank space in the design, the theme being further emphasised by large areas of fabric cut out from dresses and tops. This pony tail takes the design to a whole new level, with shine and sophistication; the height of glamour.

How to – Sleek Pony Tail:

Step 1:

Apply a heat protector spray before styling for soft and shiny hair and to prevent damage.

Step 2:

Smooth hair and keep frizz at bay with a smoothing serum. Try the Matrix Total Results Sleek Blow Down Cream containing Silicone and Styling Polymers for ultimate level of hold to control and tame the hair.

Step 3:

Achieve sleek, shiny, dead straight hair with the top of the range GHD Eclipse Styler. The Eclipse has Tri-zone heating technology for even transfer of heat and black ceramic plates to lock in shine and eliminates hair pulling. Section hair for smoothest, straightest results.

Step 4:

Finish the look with a firm hold hair spray. This will flatten any flyaways for a crisp sleek look. Choose a hair spray that doesn’t have a sticky formula and is fast drying.
