Model Co Cheek Lip Tint Rosy Red

By + / on Product Reviews

I have tried and tested a few cheap brands of tint that I have not been happy with and when I saw what other females have said about this Model Co product I had to give it a go.

This Model Co tint has girly pink and silver packaging and it is small enough to fit in your handbag or even your wallet!

I have used Model Co Tan Airbush in a Can for many years now and I also love the Fibre lash so although I was excited to try it, I also had high expectations for this product.

Model Co describes this product as a ‘light-weight dual purpose tint for cheeks and lips suitable for any skin tone and long lasting.’

You can pat on or rub in the tint using your fingertips. I find that if you don’t rub it in straight away it can be a bit uneven but I usually just fix it by putting it a little bit more on which gives you a deeper colour anyway. I also use lip gloss on top  which makes my lips looks fuller!

The only thing I do not like about the product is that it is quite expensive ($30-$34) for how small it is (10ml). In saying that, it has lasted me a few months so far.

Compared to cheaper brands I have tried, this is 10 times better, so well worth my money in the end. Other brands tend to dry out my lips and make them crack, however I have not experienced these issues with Model Co.

There is nothing prettier than the natural rosy glow on a girl’s cheeks! I am keen to try Benefit’s Benetint,l however I would definitely buy this product again down the track!

Jane Iredale – D20 hydration spray review

By + / on Product Reviews

A D2O (Deuterium Oxide – heavy water) hydration spray which is 10% heavier than normal water so it remains on your skin longer to help hydrate and plump your cells. I was a bit thrown back at the price of this product at first however I had heard nothing but good things about it and other Jane Iredale products from a couple of friends that swear by it. I ended up buying it 3 weeks ago and now I don’t think that I could go without it! I usually spray it on before moisturiser and pat it into my skin for a hydrating boost, after applying my makeup to set mineral powder and during the day to freshen up my skin – it works a treat. I get quite dry skin in winter but this product has really helped to keep it moisturised. The spray contains Myrrh (I googled this ingredient because I had never heard of it.)

janeireI now know that it is excellent for skin hydration, helps prevent premature aging, rejuvenates the skin and improves circulation! It also contains Chamomile to soothe and extracts of Olive Leaf, Rosemary Leaf and Grape Seed Extract which are powerful anti-oxidants and also anti-bacterial. I have always enjoyed the scent of Ylang Ylang however it may take other people time to get use to as it can be a bit strong! My skin feels so much softer and it looks nice and dewy! This spray can be used as a moisturiser for oily skin, an extra moisture spritz for dry skin and it inactivates certain acne bacteria making it perfect for blemish prone skin as well. I have also started using the Liquid Mineral Foundation under my mineral powder which is packed full of vitamins and minerals to treat your skin whilst giving you coverage. It is wonderful! I think I am addicted!!!

Clarins Extra Firming Day Cream and Night Cream

By + / on Product Reviews

Clarins is a brand I love simply because they are French and they fit in with the little “French” image I have in my head. Whilst I had never tried their facial moisturizers I have tried plenty of other products, with the ones I really love not getting a mention, as usual – hello Hand and Nail Cream, you’re amazing!

I am going to discuss the Extra Firming Night and Day Cream together because they are so similar, and it saves me writing everything twice.

What I like:

  •  These creams are so luxurious. The formulation is silky and soaks in immediately to provide hydration all night.
  • They have a soft in offensive fruity smell which dissipates quickly. It smells artificial, but I really like the scent.
  • I didn’t notice a difference in the “firmness” of my skin, although I did notice a difference in the texture and despite it being Autumn my skin tended to glow each morning when I woke up.

What I don’t like:

  • Whilst I appreciate the beauty of the little glass tubs of cream, I can foresee a few smashed tubs. I myself have almost dropped them on the bathroom tiles countless times.
  • The cream was a little bit rich for my skin, I did get break outs along my chin when I used this product. Considering I have sensitive, problem skin which is like a fussy toddler it is no great surprise really and I feel it would be perfect for most other people. The formulation is designed for all skin types, however I believe it would be best for those with drier or more mature skin.

Ry.com.au is the company I have entrusted all of my MAJOR beauty spending with. When I bought my GHD for my 18th birthday, it was promptly sent all the way to Kingaroy without a scratch. My Clarisonic Classic was bought this Christmas and I have bought countless other items from them besides. I love that being local (Gold Coast) means the items get to you extremely quickly and they are willing to fix any problem (when I bought my Clarisonic I originally wanted the Pro, but they were out of stock – the website hadn’t been changed to reflect this yet when I ordered the Pro. They quickly refunded my money and I bought the Classic instead. Easy). It was no different when they sent me these items for review, they arrived promptly and carefully packaged.
