Açai oil (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) from the Amazon rainforest is best known for its amazing anti-oxidant benefits. Due to its unusual habitat açai berries are up to 10 times richer in anti-oxidants than other nutritious fruits such as cranberries and blueberries. Unique to their environment acai berries grow at the very top of the rainforest trees and are exposed to strong ultra violet radiation, they have therefore had to develop biological mechanisms to survive, contributing to their antioxidant potency, which is an invaluable shield against colour fade.
