Softer hair, time saving, would recommend!

Have been tossing up buying a GHD for a few years now, finally I've caved and bought this one as I wanted to replace my straightener and wave wand. After using my hair is 10x more soft than what it was after using my old straightener. It took a while to get used to using it as a waving wand but after a while you get the hang of it. The wider plates are time saving, my wavy-curly hair now only takes 10 minutes to do in the morning. Usually double that time with my previous straightener.

Inferior to original GHD products

My GHD straighteners arrived, and here are three things which have changed about them since they first came out: 1) The plates don't touch, 2) They no longer heat past 185 degrees, 3) They are flimsy and cheap looking. The result - hair is nowhere near as shiny or smooth and it takes longer to straighten. I can't fault Ry's service, but I would definitely not recommend paying this much money for a product which is nowhere near as good as it used to be. Extremely disappointed in GHD and won't be buying their products again. Cloud Nine or Diva for me next time.

Time saver used by award winning hair stylists.

The 40mm GHD gold max straightener was a Christmas gift for my wife. My wife's professional hair stylist has been using this model to straighten her hair for sometime now. As this model performed so well in half the time of her previous model it was a perfect gift.

Not as good as my last GHD

Slightly disappointed with the 'cheap' feel of this GHD, I had my last one for 4 years, it started constantly beeping and then stopped heating up. This GHD feels a lot cheaper than my last one, more of a lighter plastic feel which is slightly disappointing. It doesn't glide through my thick hair as well as the last one. All in all it does the job well, but definitely no where near as good as my last GHD.

Lives up to its name leaving the thickest, curliest hair sleek and smooth after a quick straighten with the gold max styler. Simples to use and very quick to heat up, it's the perfect, most versatile straightener I have used before, would definitely recommend this quality purchase :)

Love my new straighter

Bought this to replace my old ghd that wasn't that great but this one is so easy to use and can straighten my hair in half the time that I usually take.

Excellent for long thick hair

I have had the smaller GHD straightener for 10 years now and finally I have grown my hair super long. To save me time I thought to buy the thicker straightener and I am glad I did. It works perfectly. Heats up in seconds and saves me a heap of time as it straightens quicker due to the thicker blades. It also helped that I received a free travel bag and I also bought it when ry had a discount on GHD's! Very much worth it

Best straightener I have ever had

I've owned so many hair straighteners as I have very thick long hair and really struggle to keep the frizz down and make my hair look shiny. Well I should have bought a GHD years ago!!! Best hair straighteners ever! And they don't pull through my hair!
