Napoleon Perdis products and I have a long and successful history together. It seems whenever I've wanted to expand my makeup repertoire, his products are the first I've reached for. When I wanted to expand my eye brush collection to more than the sponge brushes that came with eyeshadow palettes, the 917 Angle brush was the first (and still resides) in my brush collection. Finishing powders? Camera Finish was my first. False lashes? The ones I've sported to all my big occasions have been Napoleon's. And I haven't been led wrong yet, which is why I was very excited by the prospect of trying the new Stroke of Genius Cashmere foundation, the perfect opportunity to fall in love with something new.
The shade I trialled is Look B2. On first use, I had to experiment with the ideal amount of product. Until you know how much product is pumped when you squeeze, you run the risk of being a little heavy-handed.
The texture is gorgeous settles into a soft, even and touchable finish (hence the 'Cashmere' part of the title). It's a medium coverage that is very easily built into a fuller coverage. It showed a little wear towards the end of the day, but nothing a quick touch-up couldn't fix, and soon it was looking fresh again. With the compact size and brush-on design, touch-ups on the go are easy-peasy. The inclusion of SPF makes this a good match for me as I often neglect sunscreen application.
I know I know, *slaps wrist*.All in all, It’s a beauty. A new base staple for sure.
