BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Review

There are very few products that come along in the beauty community that EVERYONE seems to love. It’s hard with so many different skin types, tones and concerns to find a product that works with every skin tone/ skin type. But there is one product that has continued to be hyped for well over a year now that I figured it couldn’t just be a phase. So I tried it and realised – this is the real deal people. And that little wonder is the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector

So what is it? It’s exactly as this product reads. Your skin will be shimmering perfection. This is a highlighting product at it’s best. The highlighting trend blew up last year and it seems that it’s not going anywhere. And why would you want it to?  A small amount of this finely milled powder will leave your skin looking lit from within – no shiny disco balls here! Who doesn’t love glowing, radiant skin? It’s what we crave – and this little baby from BECCA can help you achieve the best looking skin in minutes. The pressed compact allows for easy application and comes in a variety of colours for any skin tone.

Pearl – The palest of all the perfectors, pearl is frosted white in colour which gives the perfect pop of shimmer.

Moonstone – The palest of the original released perfectors, Moonstone throws pale gold which blends seamlessly into skin for a subtle glow.

Opal – Possibly the most popular, this champagne coloured powder perfectly reflects the light to set the mood. There’s no other shade quite like it.

Rose Gold – This shade speaks for itself and can be worked as a highlight or if you’re a bit more pale the perfect shimmery blush!

Topaz – Great for deeper skin tones this bronze shade ticks all the boxes.

These powders are so finely milled when you touch them, they almost feel creamy. So silky like butter, the finely milled process helps to prevent big chunks of glitter standing out on your face. Some highlighters can also emphasise pores or breakouts – but not these. Becca’s aim is to make your skin look more smooth and radiant than before.

In terms of application – the colour pay off is real. You will be best off by utilising a soft hand as it is easy to accidentally overdose. A soft fan brush will work better than your standard blush or highlighting brush.

Can you believe you can make it through a whole day’s work – or a whole night out – with one tiny application of this highlighter? You better believe it. Even when my foundation had faded, my eyeshadow was creased and my eyeliner had ran, I could still see the little twinkle of shimmering skin perfector going strong. These will easily last 8 hours on the skin.

It can be hard to beat BECCA on the range of shades, texture & wearability but there are a few similar products on the market you could try and compare!

1. The Balm Mary-Lou

Probably the most contested, Mary-Lou looks most similar to BECCA Opal and wears just as nice!

2. Curtis Collection Illuminating Bronzer – Sun Goddess

A lovely highlighter that throws a similar bronze hue as Topaz, this is sure to be a hit!

3. W3LL PEOPLE Luminist Mineral Glow – Gold Glow

This is more of a subtle glow but the pay off is similar to that of Moonstone!
