There are a variety of different oils on the market now for so many different uses on your hair and skin! You’ve probably heard of Coconut Oil and Argan Oil but there are a lot of other great oils that have so many benefits that you could be missing out on!
The benefits of incorporating oil into your haircare or skincare routine include:
Hydration – Oil is the perfect antidote to dry, flaky or rough feeling skin. Oils can be even more beneficial than your normal moisturiser – and you only need the smallest amount to feel instant hydration.
Balancing skins moisture levels -Like dissolves like, so even if you’ve got really oily skin, incorporating a face oil into your skincare routine can actually counteract excess sebum and help clear impurities.
Fight visible signs of ageing – Most face oils are packed with antioxidants that help to protect from radical damage such as UV rays. If your skin is affected by sun damage or damage, oil is your friend.
A great primer under make-up – Oil will settle into your skin in the areas where you need it the most, creating a plumping effect and a smooth, even base for make-up to go on to.
Reduces frizz and detangles hair – Oil is a great all round hair health booster. It acts as a heat protectant, works to seal hair cuticles and makes your hair even more shiny.
And the benefits go on!
Grapeseed Oil – it’s packed with antioxidants to regulate natural oil production
Chamomile Oil – Calms and soothes redness and irritation on skin including rosacea
Rosehip Oil – Contains Vitamin A to protect your skin while increasing cell turnover
Jojoba Oil – heals cuts and sores to replenish skin moisture levels and keeps skin hydrated
Monoi Oil – contains soothing and purifying properties for all skin types
Coconut Oil – packed with essential nutrients, proteins and Vitamin E that is absorbed into the hair & skin easily to replenish moisture levels
Macadamia Oil – Highly moisturising and soothes itches and inflammation

I'm a journalism grad and avid makeup fan with an unhealthy addiction to buying nude lipsticks, no matter how similar they all may seem. I love chatting to anyone who will listen about my new favourite products, skincare dos and don'ts and practically any other beauty-related topic under the sun. That doesn't mean I'm frivolous with my recommendations, though--you can count on me to give you the nitty gritty on all your wishlist products. In my spare time, you'll find me binge-watching old episodes of Gilmore Girls or at brunch with a large iced coffee in my hand.
This Philosophy moisturiser graces the beauty shelves of Oprah, so you just know it's gotta be good. We tried it for ourselves -- here's how it stacks up.
