Are you a regular jet-setter? Chances are you've picked up a few travel-sized minis on occasion, but you've generally got quite a small selection to choose from--think shampoos packed full of parabens (yuck), ineffective skincare and other bits and bobs you'll never really need! That's why we've set out to create a one-stop shop for all the frequent flyers out there. From travel-sized skincare and haircare, through to makeup, electrical, body and mens, we've got every avenue covered, so there's no need to brave a trip to the shops!
RY Travel Edit: Staff Picks
One of the perks of working for a beauty company is that you're constantly surrounded by cosmetics and more--which is why we've put together our five favourite products from the RY Travel Edit, to give you a little bit of inspiration for what to pack in your carry-on next time you're on a jaunt around the world. Check out what our RY staff had to say about their top Travel Edit picks!
1. Poni Cosmetics Brow Powder ($26)
"There's no way I'm going on holiday without bringing brow products--in fact, I can't really go anywhere without doing my brows! I find brow powder the easiest product to use, plus it's super travel-worthy as it's a small pot and thin brush you can easily pack into your handbag or carry on. It also gives you amazing precision and total control, so you can go light-handed during the day and pack it on at night, or adjust based on your tan and overall look. I used to use the famed Anastasia Beverly Hills, but since trying Poni for the very first time, I've never gone back--this is honestly my holy grail brow product, and I know a lot of the other RY girls love this brand as well. It also lasts on your brows for ages, so you won't have to reapply after a long day out exploring. I always get so many compliments on my brows--all thanks to Poni!" - April, RY Brand Manager
2. Wotnot Facial Wipes
"Although I have been lucky enough to be blessed with an even skin complexion, after a few hours on a flight my skin is generally feeling less than fresh. My beauty saviour bag for flights has always included facial wipes, a light moisturiser and lip balm. After using many different products from around the world, my favourite face wipe has to be the Wotnot Facial Wipes. I cannot speak highly enough of these facial wipes. The cloth is thick and soft without any synthetic materials, yet is powerful enough to remove impurities and even waterproof mascara. The Wotnot Facial Wipes are gentle on your skin with 100% natural ingredients which leave your skin feeling extremely refreshed." - Suzie, RY Admin Assistant
3. Asap Super B+ Complex
To keep my skin feeling nice and fresh, I follow this with the asap Super B Complex. It prevents your skin from becoming dehydrated with the help of vitamins B3, B5 and B9. If you feel the need you can add a light moisturiser after application, I would recommend staying within the asap range, however I personally find the asap Super B Complex is all I need for my skin during flights. It is light and refreshing and doesn’t leave behind any of that dreaded sticky residue! Now your skin is taken care of, all you need to do is kick back, relax and find your closest margarita. Enjoy ladies!" - Suzie, RY Admin Assistant
Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for a how-to on the asap Super B Complex, coming soon to the RY Ontrend blog!4. Lonvitalite the Ultimate Pack ($39)
"As soon as the plane takes off, strip off your makeup put on your extra thick socks and a sheet mask. Because one sheet mask is never enough, stow this pack in your carry on and land with skin Rosie Huntington-Whiteley would be proud of. For just $39, this pack comes with 7 masks that you can use for practically every skin concern there is. Moisturise and firm your skin with a Red Wine collagen mask (and maybe a cheeky in-flight wine to pair with it!) or beat exhaustion with the Coffee Anti-Fatigue mask. These are super convenient to use, ultra-effective and feel great on the skin." - Aimee, RY Marketing Assistant
5. Olaplex No. 3 Take-Home Hair Perfector
"If you've got coloured hair, especially ashy blonde hair like I do, you're going to want to make sure it stays healthy and free of breakage while you're away! Sun, surf and salt can totally ruin your hair, and we're all guilty of going a few days without washing or brushing while we're living it up on holidays, so make sure to lock in that moisture and strengthen hair bonds with Olaplex No. 3. The bottle is only 100ml, but a little goes a long way, so even if you're off for a few months this should last you! It's honestly made my hair so much healthier, softer and free of split ends, meaning it'll really hold up between salon visits." - Kari, RY Customer Service
6. Dermalogica Active Moist 100ml
Other products also shown.
"This moisturiser is honestly amazing, especially if you have combination or oily skin. It'll give any dry patches that you may develop while on the plane a boost of hydration, meaning that when you finally touch down at your destination, your skin is super moisturised and ready to take on whatever your holiday may throw at it! If you're the type to break out while on the plane, this moisturiser will also help control unwanted oils and stop pimples from popping up. It's the perfect size for your carry-on bag (coming in at exactly 100ml!) and to fit in your travel makeup bag while abroad!" - Kari, RY Customer Service
7. Skinstitut Starter Kit
Other products also shown.
"Confession time--I am not a Skinstitut beginner by any means, and in fact, I've been using the brand pretty religiously for a while now. But, when it comes time to travel and I need those suitcase-sized products, I don't want to compromise my carefully curated skincare routine. That's why I love this pack! With four key Skinstitut products (L-Lactic Cleanser, Glycolic Scrub, Multi-Active Mist and Age Defence SPF 50+) it's the perfect go-to kit for your next holiday. Give yourself a refreshing spritz of the Multi-Active Mist while you're up in the air to help lock in moisture and relieve tired skin. Then, when you've arrived at your destination (I'm thinking an exotic island somewhere...ahhh) you can upkeep good skincare techniques in between all of the exploring, swimming, eating and wine-drinking you'll be doing." - Charlotte, RY Content Junior
