Pastel Hair Trends of Summer 2012

Love it or loathe it; pastel hair colour is making its way for a big Christmas 2012 trend. The most popular question of this trend would be how do I wear it and what would suit my style?

The great thing about pastels is you can choose which colour works in with your style. Whether this is the ‘sweet’, softer looking pastels such as pink, lilac or mint, or the ‘grunge’ looks of grey, deeper blues and greens. Other options include a full head of pastel colours, or just dip dyed ends.

However, this popular trend is not without its up keeps and maintenance to keep it looking its best.  To keep your pastel locks in great condition I recommend using Redken’s Colour Extend shampoo & conditioner to provide anti-fade protection. It is formulated with Redkens exclusive interlock protein network and powerful fade resistant complex. Containing UV filters and conditioning cranberry oil, your hair  will stay vibrant and radiant with mirror like shine – which is exactly what we love!

How you wear your new pastel hair colour is completely up to you but the girls at RY are loving the look of the pastel in a fish tail braid. This is on trend, quirky and so much easier than it looks!  To achieve this look, shampoo twice and condition your hair with Redkens colour extend range, towel dry, apply Redken full effect 04 mousse (or for the girls that love that little bit of extra volume apply Redken Guts 10 to damp hair at the roots), and finally don’t forget your Redken Satin Wear 02, for thermal protection! This is perfect for protecting your hair from the heat of your Hairdryer without weighing it down.  Tip your head upside down and dry  in order to ehnance your volume. Depending on whether you’re wanting the messy fish tail look, or the sleeker look, you may need to run your GHD over your hair. Braid your hair and  then finish with Redken Shine Flash 02 for beautiful shine and to maintain frizziness. A very easy on trend style for the rest of 2012!
