Ry.com.au has been selling skincare online for almost a decade. We sell over 3000 cosmetic products. As the owner of this business I am often asked “what is the best skincare”  You really can have to much choice sometimes. Here is my one and only tip for looking after your skin.

Use sunscreen. Luckily here in Australia we have high quality make ups and moisturisers that contain  high levels of spf to help protect your skin. The number one reason for wearing skincare is your health and the health of your skin. But not far behind is that we all want to look young, and nothing does as much damage to your skin as the harmful UVA and UVB radiation.

How does sunscreen work?

The SPF(sun protection factor)  in a suncreen works as a block to the harmful UVB rays and stops them from penetrating the top level of skin. There are many myths circulating on how long a sunscreen last but the spf is a good guide. Example if it takes your skin 20 mins to turn read in the sun, the spf 15 suncreen should protect your skin for 15 times longer than that.  Be aware though, no matter how high the spf of your sunscreen most experts recommend that you reapply you sun screen at least every two hours. People with fair skin are more likely to get burnt and cause damage to their skin so staying out of the sun and wearing a hat is a easy solution. Applying the sunscreen at least 30 minutes before sun exposure will allow the product to be absorb and bind to the skin.

There are sunscreens for all activities and  nasty stinging eyes are a thing of the past with sunscreen formulas invented for sports people and even babies. As a parent I find it hard to accept when I see young children with sunburn. Adults are dumb enough to decide  for themselves but do your kids a favour and cake them in the stuff.
