How and Why to Use a Makeup Primer

Makeup primer is a beauty secret that unbelievably not everyone knows about . It  can make a big difference in the look and wear of your makeup. by preparing  your skin  before you apply your  makeup  it creates a smooth base and helps the make up last a full day .

Have you seen pictures of a foundation or colour swatch and thought .”wow I just have to try that” only to be left disappointed. The Primer could be all your missing.

This video is  a step-by-step guide to help you learn how to apply makeup primer:

Step 1: First you will need to cleanse your face to make sure your skin is clean and ready.  First you will need to use moisturieer. Putting any makeup on top of dry skin usually leads to trouble later in the day. Choose a light moisturizer as heavy creams tend to make primer slide right off your skin. Be sure to let the moisturizer sit for a few minutes to allow it to be absorbed into your skin.

Step 2: Step two apply a good quality moisturiser. Applying make up to dry skin will lead to the make up drying out and not lasting as it should. If you have time wait for the moisturiser to be absorbed into the skin before moving on to

step 3  Use a pea sized amount of primer onto the back of your hand .Use a foundation sponge and lightly apply the foundation to you face using a soft dabbing motion. start around your eyes and work down you face covering your nose and chin. If you want you can apply to your neck and décolletage if you plan on using make up on these areas.

Step 4: You will know the areas on your face where the make up wears off the fastest .If needed apply extra primer to these areas.

Step 5:  Don’t Rush to get the absolute most from you primer give it time to dry before applying foundation or concealer. This tip is key so don’t skip it.

Step 6: This skin around your eyelids is the thinnest on your whole body and  face primers are not usually suited to application on your eyelids. In this video we have used a Napoleon Eye primer.

We Think you will be pleasantly surprised by the difference a make up primer can make in helping all your make up stay on longer.
