Autumn is one of our favourite seasons here on the coast. The sun is shining, the humidity is not making you want to kill yourself and the crisp evenings make for cosy nights in with homemade soup and hot chocolate. The lack of seasons here in Australia means it's not exactly like the leaves are changing and there's pumpkin spiced lattes everywhere - but we do love the Autumn beauty trends that pop up.

Any excuse to give your makeup a shake-up!

Keep reading for our 10 favourite Autumn Beauty Trends 2016

1. Thick Brows

Is is just me or do you thick brows look so warm and cosy like you're giving a big hug with your eyes? Pencil thin brows are so out - but don't think you need Instagram block brows. The messier the better! Try the Jane Iredale Purebrow Gel for an easy no fuss way to comb brows into place and also encourage brow growth.

2. Lazy Girl Balm for Chapped Lips

Everyone loves a bold lip (more on that below) but there's nothing worse than lipstick sticking in all your dry chapped lips. The best, lazy girl solution to this is chapstick! Your lips will look shiny without the stickiness of a gloss, and you're healing your lips in the process.

3. Smokey Matte Eyes

Black smokey eyes are all the range but I might be bias in thinking that a brown smokey eye suits everyone. It makes brown eyes browner, blue eyes pop and green eyes sparkle. Matte eyeshadows are perfect for Autumn, not too intense and not too shimmery, but still makes your eyes stand out. Try the Jane Iredale Naturally Matte Eyeshadow Kit for 5 beautiful matte shades in one convenient palette.

4. Blushing Cheeks

Nothing screams Autumn like the natural blush on your cheeks from a harsh wind. If you - like me - hate being out in harsh winds you can create this look with a pop of colour from the Napoleon Perdis Light Switch Luminizer Palette.

6. Glitter

Okay, okay I can hear you screaming glitter has been out since the 90s! But glitter is back in a big way - probably thanks to that SnapChat filter (you know the one). Now glitter is not reserved for your body or your collar bones circa Brittney Spears 1994 - it can be done around your eyes for an actually really cool effect.

7. Bold Lips

This is a given. Autumn means berry is back, baby! So apply your deep plums, your purples, your deep reds and the like. I love Jane Iredale Pure Moist Lip Colour in Ashley.

8. Dark Hair

It's time to swap those beachy blonde locks for a darker shade. If you're a little scared you could try Bronde (mix of blonde and brunette) or some low lights for a big of edge this Autumn.

9. Nail Art

Don't forget your nails! I'm terrible at remembering to paint mine but if you do remember - dark shades are a must. I also love taupe or the silver glitter trend!

10. Natural Glow

And if all else fails, just try and rely on your own natural glow. Nothing is more beautiful than beauty from within. So rock no makeup, let your skin breathe and your complexion shine.

What's your favourite beauty trend from above?

Are you going to shake it up this Autumn?
