Oscar winner Natalie Portman has given birth to her first child – a healthy baby boy – with ballet dancer fiancé Benjamin Millepied. The actress, who has just had her 30th birthday, is expected to tie the knot with choreographer Millepied, who she met on the set of Black Swan, later this year.
Comedian Ellen DeGeneres led the Twitter tributes to the happy couple posting: “I’m so happy for my dance protégée Natalie Portman and her new baby boy! Congratulations!”
Followed by Lindsay Lohan who tweeted: ‘Congrats to #natalieportman for her beautiful baby boy.
Natalie Portman’s baby (his name is yet to be revealed) it appears is the icing on the cake for what has been a good year so far for the actress. Portman picked up another first – an Oscar – this February for her role as a tortured ballet dancer in the psychological thriller Black Swan.
Portman also won the Best Actress award for the role at the UK BAFTAs this year but was unable to attend the ceremony in London due to the advanced stage of her pregnancy.
When she announced her pregnancy last year, the usually secretive star said “I have always kept my private life private but I will say that I am indescribably happy and feel very grateful to have this experience.”
