I have to admit, I love a good night cream, and if I was really honest (which I am), I would tell you that I have been using a night cream since I was 15! Now without revealing my age…that is almost 15 years! Seriously, my skin better thank me for this when I am 60.
So you can imagine my delight when a box filled with Clarins Extra-Firming Day Cream and Extra-Firming Night Cream arrived on my desk. I have loved Clarins products for years now but had never tried the face moisturizers; I don’t know why I have left it this late because…these products are AH-MAZING! I could not wait until the next morning so that I could apply the day cream and I tell you, it did not disappoint.
I love waking up in the morning and splashing my face with cold water, it really wakes me up and my skin really thanks me for it (I can tell. It loves it), after which I apply a 30+ SPF. After my religious like routine, I pulled the Clarins Extra-Firming Day Cream out from its cute little box, it looked so perfect I felt bad putting my fingers into it.
The cream felt absolutely amazing, it has a thickness to it, which I love. In saying that, it’s not too thick that it feels like an extra layer over your skin, that is never a good feeling. I applied the size of a 10c piece and moisturized the cream into my face, starting on the check bones and working my way around. As soon as I applied the day cream I noticed an immediate difference. My skin felt bright, fresh and moisturized, I always thought my skin was well hydrated, apparently not. I have been using the day cream for two weeks now and my skin still loves it, every morning after applying the cream I feel like I have just had a facial. I have also noticed considerable firming of the skin under my check bones. What is also great is that both Clarins Extra-Firming Day Cream and Night Cream are perfect for all skin types, pretty neat.
After using the day cream I was expecting greatness from the night cream, and I wasn’t let down at all. The night cream is packed with all the awesomeness of the day cream and more. The cream is the perfect thickness for a night cream and what I love is that there is no irritating fragrance that accompanies it.
After cleansing and toning I apply the night cream in the same way I did the day cream, massaging it in all over my face and neck. I cannot rave on enough about how beneficial it is to apply a night cream before bedtime, especially in the colder months. Going in and out of heated rooms can really dry out our skin. This is why a night cream is a must, it applies all the moisture and goodness our skin needs while we sleep. How good is that, while we are taking a much-deserved shuteye, our skin is still hard at work. As with the day cream, I have been applying the night cream every night for about two weeks and I am hooked. I am definitely going to be purchasing another one of these beauties when I run out, which might not be for a while because a little bit of this moisturizer goes a long way. Even after two weeks of use, it hardly looks like I have made a dent.
