ASAP RADIANCE SERUM REVIEW

So my understanding is that the Radiance Serum is a new and improved version of the popular Clearskin Gel by asap. So for all of you that used to use that particular product but no longer find it available, now you know why. Firstly, my skin type. I have quite dry skin and am prone to breakouts so when I read that the serum not only helps with fine lines and sun damage but also with acne, I jumped at the chance to be on the Radiance Serum bandwagon.

The first thing I noticed apart from the modern, easy to use pump style packaging was the light consistency of the gel. I was pleased to find the smooth gel quickly absorbed into my skin without leaving a sticky feeling, typical of many other serums I have tried before. The serum boasts a new generation of brightening botanicals and antioxidants which may leave many of you thinking ‘what the?’ well it means this magical serum will make your skin look brighter, increase luminosity and reduce existing UV damage (dam Australian sun).

After just two weeks of applying the Radiance Serum sparingly at night in combination with my moisturiser, I definitely saw an improvement in my overall hydration and clarity of my skin.

Serums – what’s all the hype you ask?

According to Dr Ehsan Jadoon from ICCM in Sydney, “Serums contain the most potent dose of active ingredients. I prescribe the asap skin products range of serums, as they have a unique delivery system and contain optimum-strength active ingredients such as antioxidants, peptides and skin brighteners. asap serums have a smaller molecular size than most moisturisers, so are able to penetrate deeper into the lower dermal layers, resulting in faster and longer-lasting results”. (Published on Shesaid.com)

How do serum’s differ to a cream?

Well, creams such as moisturisers will sit on the top of your skin due to its large molecular structure, meaning that it is unable to penetrate as deep into the skin as a serum. This is not to say that moisturisers are useless, in fact when combined with a serum you will target both the inner layers and outer layers of your skin, while sealing in nutrients to keep your skin hydrated.

Golden Rule

To make sure you are getting the best results, always use a serum before you apply a moisturiser!
